Born April 1899 in Old Brampton, Charles was a young joiner and wheelwright at the time of his enlistment.

Lance Corporal 34574. Originally joined the Royal Engineers 12 April 1917, service number 85698.

Killed in action 19 April 1918.

British War Medal and Victory Medal.
