John Clarke opened the Brampton Steam Bakery at 294 Chatsworth Rd in the last years of the 19th century. The business was later run by John’s son Luther and then passed down the line of 4 generations.
In the 1980s the bakery moved to Warwick Park, Storforth Lane.
